Meet Chef Paul King Behind The Venetian

“I truly enjoy promoting this industry – I’m a perfect example of how dedication, a strong commitment, and hard work can pay off when learning and succeeding in this business.” – said Chef Paul King

The Venetian in Weymouth, MA, is a neighborhood favorite, and new owner Eric Papachristos and Executive Chef Paul King are here to keep that legacy going. As the previous chef at Davio’s for over 20 years, Chef King has leaped to bring his experience, recipes, and passion for Italian-American cuisine to the Weymouth community.

The History of Chef Paul King

Paul King found his way to Davio’s, where he started as a Line Chef on Newbury Street and was quickly promoted to Sous Chef. In 1996, he assumed the position of Executive Chef at Davio’s at the Cambridge, MA location. His passion and love of food have been evident throughout his contribution and development of Avila Modern Mediterranean, and in 2008 he left Avila to return to Davio’s and opened a new location in Foxborough, MA.

One of Paul’s passions includes helping aspiring chefs understand the joys of cooking and promoting it as a possible career choice that is often overlooked. He has worked with the American Institute of Wine & Food and within both Boston and Brockton Public School systems, providing job-shadowing projects, training sessions, and internship opportunities for high school students interested in culinary.

At Davio’s in Foxborough, Chef King constantly mentored and inspired Chefs that attended Johnson and Wales. He has always been extensively involved with the Regional Vocational and Technical High School Cooperative Educational Program, where he is planting the seeds of culinary arts.

Chef Paul King and The Venetian

Chef Paul King came to The Venetian after 30 years at Davio’s restaurant group, where he focused his specialties on perfecting the art of Northern Italian cuisine. Paul’s passion for Italian dishes stems from his childhood in Watertown, MA. He grew up cooking traditional Italian feasts with his mother for almost every major holiday. He learned to appreciate the power of fresh ingredients and the unparalleled experience of enjoying a plate of homemade pasta – which he brings to The Venetian.

After 30 years working in the corporate kitchen, Chef Paul is thrilled to be alongside partners Eric and George sustaining this authentic neighborhood classic. Visit The Venetian today to taste Chef Paul King’s cuisine.
